Merhaba!
Welcome to the Turkish Archives Site
In the sub-sites of this server you will find information about:
- The Archives and Records Management profession with links to various web sites around the world carrying links to other sites, and the most comprehensive list of mailing lists (currently 230+) on archives, records management and museum issues; as well as slogans, humour and cartoons on archives and records management.
- Links to and information about various archival organizations in Türkiye. Information for Genealogical Researchers is now available [in Turkish], too.
- ArchiMac, the first and the only BBS in the world giving support to the Archives and RM profession and the first and the only in Türkiye running on an Apple Macintosh with a network connection.
- The first archives journal in Türkiye, Archimedia, published bimonthly between 1993 and 1998.
- The only academic journal in Türkiye, Journal of Archival Studies, published twice a year and edited by staff of the Archives Department at Marmara University.
On the other hand, as part of the main site:
- Once you are through visiting, you can write your observations to our Guestbook, if you like, and let others read them too.
- If you are interested in pages that have got a link to this site, you can find them on our Link Exchange page.
- Pages that have been updated recently are listed at the Updates page.
FYI: Because of the low speed of Internet connections, this site is designed as text only as possible, so as to facilitate conveying information at a fast pace. Even in this form, it takes more than quite a few MBs in total. If, however, you think it is too boring, please let me know, so that I can add some items to slow things down :-)
